Today is our wedding day

YAY

We made it.

I came so close to losing it all—losing Memphis—but for some reason he loves me unconditionally, and for that I will forever be grateful. I guess the marriage vow, for better to worse is true…it just came a little earlier than expected for Memphis and me. At times, I have been at my worst these last few weeks and, through it all, he stuck with me. He lifted me up when I was lower than low. He was my rock when I was falling apart. He really is the yin to my yang; and my better half.

Taking a deep breath, I turn and stare at my dress on the hanger. My dream dress is a sexy backless number with a deep V-neck and asymmetrical pleated bodice in ivory. It has a full A-line skirt to the floor, with a sweeping train. As soon as I saw the sexy open back, I fell in love.

I’ve just slipped my dress on when there is a knock on the door, I yell, “Come in!” Thinking it’s Kort, but when I spin around it's my husband-to-be. “Dude!” I screech, as I duck down into a ball so he cannot see my dress, “You can’t see me before the wedding. It’s bad luck.”

“I’ve got my eyes closed and covered, I can’t see you, therefore, it’s all good, babe.”

Lifting my head up, I see him standing in the doorway with his hands covering his eyes and a sexy as sin grin on his face. My eyes roam over his body and my mouth goes dry, holy-fucking-hotness Batman, my husband-to-be is hotter than hot. To a woman, a guy in a suit is what a chick in lingerie is to a man.

“Fine, but what are you doing here?”

“I needed to see you.”

Rolling my eyes, I shake my head, “Really?”

“Yes, I missed you.”

“Babe, you saw me last night.”

“But that was over fifteen hours ago. I missed you.”

“I missed you too but, Memph, I’ll be seeing you soon, like very, very soon.”

“I know,” he says, and the forlorn look on his face makes my heart flutter.

Stepping toward him, I reach out and cup his cheek, he nuzzles into my palm and I rub my thumb along his jawline. “I love you, Memphis Shawe, and I cannot wait to become your wife.” Lifting up on my tippy-toes, I place my lips against his and kiss him. He wraps his arms around me and deepens our connection, pulling me closer to his body. I lose myself in this kiss, just like I always do when it comes to Memphis.

The moment is broken when Kort walks back into the room. “For fuck’s sake, you two,” she huffs, pushing us apart, slamming her hand over his eyes and shaking her head. “Memphis, out…and when I remove my hand, keep your fucking eyes closed.” She pauses and whispers, “Fuck, you guys are weird.” Then she turns to me. “Bannon, bathroom now, so I can fix your makeup. You got kiss smush all over your face.
